Hello! My name is Rose, and I am a 26 year old lady living in St. Louis, Missouri. I’m a Californian who moved to the Midwest in late 2014 – my partner Chris is attending law school here.

This project was born during Christmas 2013 – I had graduated from UCLA in June, and was missing the routine of school, and also was out of the habit of being a mindful reader. I needed a new project. I’ve always been a voracious reader, but didn’t have a list of all the books I’d read. On top of not keeping a list of my books, I also reread books, so my “read” list is just a jumble of memories – “yes, I think I read that while on vacation, I remember being on the beach…” or “yes, it was very cold while reading this one” – Not a very reliable system at all!

I began a tumblr for short reviews of each book I read – please visit, I have almost 2 years of posts there! While I have almost 150 followers, there are a lot of things about tumblr I don’t like, and I have very little interaction with those followers. So off I went in search of a better blogging platform – hence my move to WordPress!

By the end of 2014, I had read 54 books. I had also started using Goodreads – my kindle lets me update my reading progress, and I like the mobile app for scanning books onto my “Want To Read” list when I’m out and about.
